Interior Designer

We are searching for an Interior Designer with strong communication skills to join our talented, award-winning team in our Scottsdale-based studio. We are a busy team, with projects of all sizes happening all over the valley and offer competitive benefits and compensation in a fun, upbeat work environment. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working on multiple projects, staying busy, and traveling for meetings and installations. They will need to be proactive, organized, goal oriented, and be creative in problem solving.

 

Good interior designers that understand the importance of details are the key to bringing the design plan to life. Responsibilities include attending client meetings and recording notes, scheduling next-step appointments, and preparing the documentation needed to execute a complete design plan. The right candidate can work independently and create and follow processes for a streamlined approach where accuracy is critical. They will also be effective communicators with the ability to listen to the individual needs of each client and then educate them to understand the best solutions. Responsibilities:
  • Pre-screen in bound opportunities and determine whether a consultation is warranted
  • Schedule and attend client meetings as part of the design team and record detailed notes
  • Generate floor plan and elevation drawings digitally, both 2D and 3D
  • Add details, ledgers, and keys to design drawings to create accurate construction documents
  • Collaborate with others to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems
  • Source materials and products included in plans
  • Ability to analyze data and situations and produce creative solutions
  • Go on site visits to inspect work and communicate with General Contractors and subcontractors
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout the design process
  • Participate on installation days which involves moving furnishings, placing accessories and hanging art
  • Participate in social media posting to further the company's marketing efforts
Requirements & Skills:
  • Associate degree in interior design or five years' experience
  • Experience in the design and construction industry, math, and materials
  • Effective and respectful communication skills when collaborating with others
  • An independent person with the ability to proactively solve problems
  • Knowledge in construction documentation using AutoCAD, Chief Architect, SketchUp or Revit
  • Proficient in PC and MS Office products (Teams and O365 experience a plus)
  • Willingness to abide by company procedures and systems and offer new solutions to make us better
  • Sense of urgency to complete tasks
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Clean driving record and ability/willingness to drive to appointments
